Sculptra® is an FDA-approved bio-stimulating injectable that helps restore lost volume, skin integrity, and contour. This product is made up of biocompatible Poly-L-lactic acid which creates a long term support system within your dermal layer for you body’s own collagen to build upon. As a result this treatment reinforces your skin foundation, providing stronger, firmer, more youthful skin.

    Sculptra® is an FDA approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen, restoring volume while tightening and thickening the skin. Unlike hyaluronic acid you will not see immediate results, your body will slowly work on re-establishing volume by stimulating collagen growth over time.

    Results can last up to two to four years! The most important detail in achieving optimal and lasting results is following the recommended dosage and treatment plan.

    Unlike filler this procedure is not immediate. It is nicknamed “for the patient patient”. Optimal results are seen within 3 – 4 months after each session, but patients typically start to notice results on themselves within 4 – 6 weeks after each session. Treatments are typically spaced out 6-8 weeks.

    Immediately following the treatment you will see added volume and may experience swelling for up to 24 hours.

    The number of treatments varies person to person. On average, patients typically need 2-3 sessions to rebuild their debleated collagen stores, with 8-10 weeks between treatments. After your initial “bank filling” treatments you will transition more over to a maintenance treatment of once a year to maintain that collagen reserve.

    Bruising is possible with all injectable procedures. We recommend planning your appointment at least 2-3 weeks before any events/vacations. Patients typically experience swelling around the areas injected for 48 hours.

    Initially, you will need 1 – 3 treatments of Sculptra® spread out over a span of a few months. Sculptra® is always done in a series of treatments, with each treatment costing $1500. We do offer sliding scale pricing for committing to more treatments with us at our office, which can be discussed during your consultation.

    During your consultation, we ask you to provide us with any medical or medication history that may interfere with the treatment. For the week before your treatment, we ask you to avoid:

    • Alcohol, Advil, and aspirin
    • Fish oil and Vitamin E
    • Herbal supplements (Garlic and turmeric)
    • Caffeine

    Avoid scheduling your appointment 4 weeks before or after:

    • Dental work
    • Tattoo
    • Any surgery
    • Vaccinations

    This versatile product has a wide range of possible applications for treatment areas. At TLC, we use Sculptra® to treat:

    • Smooth out wrinkles on the knees and above the elbows and the appearance of cellulite.

    Sculptra® is safe to be used in most areas of the face and body. We do not recommend it to be used in delicate tissue areas of the body such as lips and under the eyes.
